Skin Quality Treatments

(Skin Boosters, Polynucleotides & Collagen-Stimulating Treatments)

Skin quality treatments focus on improving the condition, hydration and structure of the skin, rather than changing facial shape or adding volume.

These treatments work at different levels within the skin to improve texture, elasticity, firmness and overall skin health. At Redefine Clinic, treatments are selected based on your individual skin concerns, with many patients benefiting from a staged or combination approach.

Understanding the different treatments

While these treatments are often grouped together, they work in different ways:

  • Skin boosters / biorevitalisers improve hydration and surface skin quality

  • Polynucleotides support skin repair and regeneration

  • Bioremodellers (e.g. Profhilo) improve hydration and skin elasticity

  • Collagen stimulators (e.g. Sculptra) improve deeper skin structure and firmness over time

A consultation allows us to recommend the most appropriate treatment, or combination, for your skin.

Skin Boosters / Biorevitalisers

Skin boosters are one of the most effective ways to improve overall skin quality, particularly where skin appears dull, dehydrated or lacks elasticity. They work by delivering hydrating ingredients into the skin, helping to restore moisture balance and improve the way the skin reflects light.

Unlike dermal fillers, they do not change facial structure, making them ideal for patients who want a subtle, natural improvement in skin appearance without altering their features.

They are often used as an early intervention treatment, or alongside other treatments to enhance overall results.

Common treatment areas

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage

  • Hands

  • Under-eye area (where appropriate)

Treatment plan

  • Typically 2–3 treatments, spaced 3–4 weeks apart

  • Maintenance every 4–6 months, depending on skin condition

Typical volumes

  • Usually 1–2ml per treatment, depending on area and product used

Longevity

  • Results develop gradually

  • Effects typically last 6–9 months with maintenance

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides work by supporting the skin’s natural regenerative and repair processes, helping to improve skin quality at a cellular level. They are particularly beneficial where the skin is thinner, more fragile or showing signs of fatigue.

Rather than providing immediate visible change, these treatments encourage the skin to gradually improve over time, making them well suited to patients who prefer a progressive, natural approach.

They are commonly used in more delicate areas, such as under the eyes, where subtle improvement in texture and elasticity is key.

Common treatment areas

  • Under-eye area,

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage

  • Hair loss / Hair thinning

Treatment plan

  • Typically 2–3 treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart

  • Maintenance every 6–9 months

Typical volume

  • Usually 1–2ml per session, depending on treatment area

Profhilo & Bioremodelling Treatments

(Including Profhilo and Profhilo Structura)

Bioremodelling treatments improve the skin by enhancing its hydration, elasticity and overall function. Profhilo is a highly concentrated hyaluronic acid treatment that spreads within the skin, improving hydration and elasticity without creating volume.

Profhilo Structura works slightly differently, targeting deeper tissue layers and helping to support areas where structural change is beginning.

These treatments are particularly suited to patients experiencing early skin laxity, thinning skin or a loss of elasticity, and are often used as part of a wider skin rejuvenation plan.

Common treatment areas

  • Under-eye area,

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage

Treatment plan

  • Typically 2 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart

  • Maintenance every 6–12 months

Typical volume

  • Face/neck: typically 2ml per treatment

  • Body areas: may require larger volumes depending on area

Collagen-Stimulating Treatments

(e.g. Sculptra)

Collagen-stimulating treatments work by encouraging the body to produce its own collagen, helping to restore skin thickness, firmness and structure over time.

Unlike treatments that provide immediate results, these work gradually, making them ideal for patients looking for longer-term improvement in skin quality and support, particularly where there is more noticeable skin laxity or volume loss.

They are often used as part of a more comprehensive treatment plan, especially where structural support is required.

Common treatment areas

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage

  • Hands and selected body areas

Treatment plan

  • Typically a course of treatments, tailored individually

Typical volume

  • Varies depending on area and goals

  • Often multiple vials used over a treatment course
